DIDO reloaded is a collaborative opera project between four catalan composers. It is a revision of "Dido and Æneas" by Henry Purcell, and the libretto is derived from Nahum Tate's. The focus is on Dido and Belinda with Æneas being absen as a singing role and represented only by the clarinet.
DIDO reloaded was premiered in the Reial Acadèmia de Medicina, Barcelona in October 2013, and it was performed in Madrid soon after. After a continuation / spinoff (Go, ÆNEAS, Go!) was premiered in Berlin, both pieces were performed together at Teatre Lliure in Barcelona, for a week in November 2014.
